Ericsson-LG, a joint venture founded in November 2005, is owned by the Swedish group Ericsson (75%) and the South Korean group LG Electronics (25%). The company specializes in engineering and designing advanced telecommunications equipment, with LG providing distribution and marketing. With approximately 1,500 employees, Ericsson-LG serves telecommunications network operators and enterprises both in Korea and internationally.
On June 29, 2010, Ericsson acquired Nortel’s stake in LG-Nortel (the former name of Ericsson-LG), renaming it LG-Ericsson. By March 22, 2012, Ericsson increased its ownership to 75%. Subsequently, on April 10, 2012, Martin Wiktorin was appointed CEO, later succeeded by Patrick Johansson. The company adopted its current name, Ericsson-LG, on September 1, 2012.
